New CBS Show Capitalizes on Bad Economy, Offers Americans a “Job”

Are you into magazines? What about games? Perhaps cruises? CBS is currently calling all interested Americans to submit an online application to be cast on the network’s new show “The Job.”

According to the show’s casting website, “The Job” boasts executive producers that also developed “Survivor” and “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,” and the will be hosted by Lisa Ling.

The CBS casting department encourages people interested in specific industries to apply to “The Job.” Some of the available “positions” include “Editorial Assistant for a leading women’s lifestyle magazine,” “Assistant Manager for a major fine dining restaurant,” “Associate Game Designer for popular gaming company,” and “Guest Relations Coordinator for a major cruise line,” among others.

As the website details, you can “check the ‘Open Call’ page to see if there is an Open Call Casting in a city near you.” Those applying to “The Job” must submissions in by October 31, 2012.

Fans can also follow the show on Twitter @CbsTheJob to get information about the show.

Apparently, its up to CBS and not Obama’s economy to give underemployed, or unemployed, Americans a shot at their dream job. While CBS’s goal of finding employment for contestants is noble, it’s sad that a network has the opportunity to capitalize upon the unfortunate reality that millions of Americans face in this recession.
