Forget the headlines dominating the news about the newly appointed select committee on Benghazi and the president’s constant diversions away from the Sept. 2012 terrorist attacks. College students today know virtually nothing about the deadly events that occurred at the American consulate in Libya and aren’t afraid to show it.
MRCTV’s Dan Joseph quizzed students from George Mason University on both pop culture and current events to test their knowledge on the happenings of the world in a new video.
Josesph first tested his unsuspecting victims’ on the hit song “Happy” and asked who the artist singing is. Unsurprisingly, all of those he spoke with answered correctly, telling him it was Pharrell.
Then, the MRCTV reporter moved to a topic that has been in the news often: Benghazi. Joseph simply asked the students at the Fairfax, Va., campus to share what they know about the terrorist attacks that left four Americans dead.
Answers ranged from a place in Afghanistan to a geographic region to a guy one coed knew from working at the gym. Yup, that would be Ben Ghazi. Don’t worry, she says he’s really nice.
None of the students could tell Joseph why Benghazi was in the news, though one remembered her family discussing it over the dinner.
Ooph.
