It’s happening again, a third-party candidate is weighing in on Harambe (may God have mercy on his soul).

Nearly two months after Green Party candidate Jill Stein posted on Twitter a tweet memorializing the beloved gorilla, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson is following suit, hoping to win over millennials who are on the fence with less than two weeks remaining until the election.
In a video published by the Independent Journal Review, Johnson lamented over Harambe, saying, “Why did they have to kill the gorilla?”
Johnson, whose support among the general electorate and millennials has been slipping, is making his last ditch effort to play spoiler in this election.
“I’m sure it was a difficult decision for everyone involved,” Johnson told IJR.
It’s been a difficult week for the Johnson campaign as his poll numbers have dipped from high single digits to low single digits.
His VP candidate, Gov. William Weld from Massachusetts released a statement that was cryptic enough for many (including us here at Red Alert Politics) to believe that he was giving Hillary Clinton a backhanded endorsement.
However, the Johnson/Weld campaign quickly shot back at the media and said that this was not the case, and that by all means, they just don’t want Donald Trump to be elected president.
So, if anything, Johnson and Weld aren’t saying “I’m with Her,” they’re actually saying “I’m with Harambe.” Fair enough.
