McDonald’s franchise seeks college graduates to fill cashier positions

Your all-nighters in the library and overwhelming student debt problem will all be worth it, because once you graduate you’ll be saying:”Do you want fries with that?” Huh?!

A McDonald’s franchise in Massachusetts is hiring and they only want the best. A college degree and a year of experience is now a must to work at these golden arches. Not. A. Joke.

So are you graduated and need a job? Have no fear. Your hard-earned degree won’t be going to waste. The past four years of writing research papers and cramming for exams was really just to prepare you to become a cashier at McDonald’s.

And it sounds like fun!

“Friendly people wanted to smile while serving lots of guests daily,” the job posting reads. “Work with your friends or make some new ones! Get a weekly paycheck with a side order of food, folks and fun.”

And there are perks: affordable health, vision and dental insurance, free uniforms, AND discounts on meals.

Think you’re too good to work at McDonalds? Think again. Unemployment among millennials is still hovering around 12.5 percent.

Unfortunately, this job won’t pull you out of student debt anytime soon.  Making $8.00 per hour will take you a long time to pay back all of those thousands of dollars, but at least you’ll be doing it with a smile!

Update: Owners of the franchise in Massachusetts claimed they were misrepresented by the employment website and they are not actually requiring cashiers to have a college degree.

“There has been some misinformation reported by an independent job site with no relationship to the Winchendon, Massachusetts McDonald’s. The original job posting, which could be accessed through McState.com, did not require a bachelor’s degree. We are working diligently to have the misinformation removed from the site but to date the website has been unresponsive to our requests,” Joe and Lori Ruscito, owners of the Winchendon, Mass., restaurant told the Washington Examiner.
