Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker proved himself to be quite the jokester during his interview with ABC News on Sunday, kidding about everything from having a drinking problem to revealing his true colors as a “Trekkie.”
Booker even used a joke to dodge a question on his potential to become a vice-presidential candidate in 2016. Here are the five best jokes from the mayor-turned-comedian.
1. On Clinton/Booker 2016:
“Unless Clinton/Booker 2016 is some kind of new rock band that might be coming out.”
2. On guilty pleasures:
“I have an illicit relationship with two guys named Ben and Jerry. That is enjoyable.”
3. On his new drinking problem:
“I did not drink coffee before this job. I always say this job drove me to drink.”
4. On his favorite Star Trek character:
“Jean-Luc Picard, of course. He’s got the greatest haircut.”
5. And last but not least — when he inadvertently called “The Colbert Report” and “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” both shows he watches regularly, “bad TV.”
“And then you know it’s just bad TV…I can see myself sitting with ice cream and watching something on TV – Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert.”
