Bush & Kasich should drop out; Rubio winning millennials, beating Hillary [VIDEO]

With Donald Trump holding a sizable lead in South Carolina and most of the remaining primaries, time is running out for an electable conservative to win the GOP nomination.

Red Alert Politics Editor Ron Meyer joined Lou Dobbs and Jedediah Bila on Fox Business Network (video below) to discuss what the ‘establishment’ Republicans are going to do to beat Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz.

Meyer suggested that instead of turning to moderates who are losing in the remaining states — and in the general election — like Gov. Jeb Bush, mainstream Republicans should turn to a conservative who can bring the GOP factions together.

If the Republican establishment had any thinking behind what they were doing, they would tell Jeb and Kasich to drop out. If Jeb and Kasich drop out, their supporters would likely go to Rubio, and then Rubio would be tied with Trump [in South Carolina]…

How are Jeb and Kasich going to win in South Carolina — which is a winner-take-all state? How are they going to win the southern primaries on March 1? They have no future in this race.

Meyer continued later, saying that Rubio is the Republicans’ best chance to win millennials and defeat the Democrats:

Here’s the thing with Rubio: He’s the only person who has appeal with millennials. If you look at the polls, he actually ties with Hillary Clinton among millennials. All the other candidates get slaughtered…

They’re an important demographic, but here’s the thing. He’s also doing better against Hillary Clinton than any other candidate running, and Jeb is doing among the worst — and Trump is doing terrible too.

After the segment, new polling showed that Rubio is winning the GOP youth vote in South Carolina (the only demographic where Trump isn’t leading there).

For supporters of Jeb Bush and John Kasich, the question becomes: How long will you let your candidate stay in and help Trump and Cruz win the nomination (and then lose to Hillary)?

Our guess is that they’ll stay in, because the ‘establishment’ has been making dumb decisions and losing elections for decades.
