Some things never change, especially when it comes to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly and scandal-ridden former New York City mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner.
Kelly and Weiner met for the first time in three years Friday night for an interview on “The Kelly File.” The two, who have been known to tussle, began to have a friendly discussion about the Affordable Care Act, but Weiner quickly reverted back to his old ways of dodging and ducking questions, frustrating Kelly as the exchange heated up.
Conversation between the former New York congressman and Kelly began to escalate when talk turned to President Barack Obama’s “if you like your plan, you can keep it” lie. Weiner attempted to defend his fellow Democrat, saying Fox News had engaged in its fair share of exaggeration about Obamacare with its coverage of death panels.
As Weiner began to dodge Kelly’s questions, instead opting to discuss the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, Kelly interrupted him, trying to get Weiner back on track.
“Here we go again!” she exclaimed with a smile.
Kelly then asked Weiner if the disastrous roll out of Obamacare was a “blow” to progressivism. Instead, Weiner refuted the law was based on both Republican ideals and principles.
“Let’s shift bases because you are not answering my questions,” Kelly continued. “Some things change in three years and some things don’t change at all!”
Weiner shot back at the host, saying she wasn’t being polite.
Kelly and Weiner’s back-and-forth continued, with Kelly ultimately conceding.
“It’s just as irritating as it used to be,” she said.
Kelly’s interview with Weiner continues Monday.
