Sometimes real life is funnier than fiction, especially in the case of U.S. politics and politicians.
That’s the premise behind a new off-Broadway play about political sex scandals that opens later this month.
The play, “Tail! Spin!,” was “drawn verbatim from the leaked e-mails, raunchy texts and tell-tale tweets that brought down politicians” like Anthony Weiner, Mark Sanford, Larry Craig and Mark Foley.
The dialogue in the show will only come from “the actual words of the disgraced politicians, their paramours and the skeptical media they tried so hard to spin,” according to the play’s website.
“Tail! Spin!” features a cast of five including Arnie Burton, Sean Dugan, Tom Galantich, Nate Smith, and Saturday Night Live’s Rachel Dratch.
Luckily for the cast these politicians have given them plenty of material — or a lack of material in the case of Weiner — to work with.
