Independent Vermont Senator and likely presidential candidate Bernie Sanders once had a budding career as an actor.
BuzzFeed discovered Wednesday that Sanders appeared in the 1999 low-budget romantic comedy “My X-Girlfriend’s Wedding Reception” as the character “Rabbi Manny Shevitz.”
Though his role was minor — his character has about two minutes of on-screen time — the politician clearly made enough of an impression to make it into the trailer for the film, which is viewable on IMDb.
According to Amazon.com, the “laugh out loud” romantic comedy centers on a Jewish-Italian wedding.
“A slice of life film that shows us what really happens on the most important days in some of our lives,” reads the Amazon description. “Whether you wish to follow the love triangle between the bride, groom and ex-boyfriend or see what the bridesmaids really talk about in the powder room; this is the movie for you.”

The Vermont lawmaker is expected to announce his bid for president Thursday. He will challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination.
