‘Blurred Lines’ model endorses Sanders, zings Steinem [VIDEO]

Bernie Sanders rallies just got a whole lot hotter — and it’s not because of global warming.

Actress and model Emily Ratajkowski, made famous for the music video of Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines, has endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)

Ratajkowski posted a video to her Facebook showing her introducing the Vermont Senator at a rally in New Hampshire on Monday.

“So I am a young woman and umm, well, just to make one thing clear: I’m here because I support Bernie Sanders. I’m not here for the boys,” the model said. “I want a female president so that one day I can look at my daughter and tell her one day you too can be president.”

The actress was referring to comments made by feminist Glorian Steinem who said that the only reason young women support Sanders of Hillary Clinton is to impress men.

“I have seen symbolism in this election, symbolism that fails the people that so desperately need the action to make change,” she continued. “I want my first female president to be more than a symbol, I want her to have politics that can revolutionize. Bernie Sanders is offering the action we desperately need. His economic solution will provide for those who suffer from the oppression of a broken system, including women.”

She finished off by reminding the audience that people should vote for the best candidate regardless of the gender.

“It’s certainly not about the gender of the candidate,” Ratajkowski concluded. “This is about a chance for real change, one that will effect each and every American. This is about our future. A future to believe in.”

If only Ratajkowski could stay away from political speeches and stick to meowing in music videos.
