A student at a Nebraska high school posted photos to Twitter of a flyer found in a classroom comparing Republicans to Nazis. The flyer was posted in an English class at Adams Central High School.
This is insanity. Conservative students are being indoctrinated, told they are literally nazis in English class. How can the school allow this to hang in their classroom? This is the education your tax dollars are paying for. We need @TPUSA pic.twitter.com/KhmWsBrLBA

The flyer depicts an American flag made of bullets, stating that “Americans are 20 times more likely to be murdered with a gun than people in other developed countries.”
Below that, were two symbols side by side, one of a Nazi swastika and one of the GOP elephant. Both symbols had identical bullet points listed below, in a clear attempt to draw comparisons between the two parties.
High school students who requested to remain anonymous confirmed to Red Alert Politics that the flyer was brought into the classroom by fellow classmates, and was hung up after the teacher approved it.
Adams Central High School defended the teacher in a public statement on Friday, stating that the flyer was simply part of an assignment in which students were to discuss “fake news.”
“The flyer was posted in the classroom for students to apply critical analysis using the ACT rubric. Meaning, students were to assess whether the message in the flyer was reliable or ‘fake news.’”
The school’s statement went on to accuse commentators on social media of “jumping to conclusions” about the details surrounding the incident.
“The lesson was intended to develop students’ ability to distinguish reliable viewpoints from unreliable viewpoints. Based on some of the comments we have received, it appears this is a skill worth developing,” concluded the seemingly snide statement.
One Adams Central staff member called for an apology over the viral tweet exposing the flyer.
You owe Mrs. Wigert a huge apology …smh?

Multiple students concur that there was never a “fake news” assignment, however.
On Saturday, a snapchat video taken in the same classroom surfaced on Twitter. The video appeared to show an argument between the teacher and her students after a student took the flyer down.
“If that [inaudible] trying to express his opinion, and we should really hear more of that,” the teacher can be heard saying.
“But we’re saying it’s wrong that he did it,” a student replied.
“You may not like it, but it’s the truth, and if it was something really serious,” the English teacher said.
“You called us Nazis!” a student claimed.
By Saturday evening, Adams Central Public Schools announced on Facebook that after having viewed the video in reference to the flyer, an investigation will be opened.
Students said the English teacher never denounced what was written on the flyer, but focused more on telling students that taking the flyer down was wrong, because it belonged to someone else.
