Is the film industry chasing away conservatives? Actress Stacey Dash, best-known for her role as Dionne in the high school comedy Clueless, might be about to run from Hollywood to follow her political dreams. According to Page Six, the star is in talks to join Fox News.
Dash has faced negative attention for her conservative political beliefs in the past. She announced her support of Mitt Romney for president in 2012 on Twitter, after which she began receiving death threats.
“I had … people calling me Uncle Tom, telling me I didn’t like black people. Ridiculous things that I didn’t really care to hear,” she said on Fox News in April of the incident. “It made me feel more confident in my belief. It made me feel that I needed to stand up more.”
She also explained that there are more conservatives in Hollywood than people think, but that “liberals have taken advantage of show business.”
Currently, the actress is working on a project called “Stacey Dash is Normal,” a show based on her life that follows a Republican single mother in the film industry.
