According to Nancy Pelosi, Hilary Clinton has no reason not to run in 2016.
“Why wouldn’t she run? She’s a magnificent secretary of state,” she said in a Sunday interview with the San Francisco Chronicle.
During the interview, the House Minority Leader referred to Clinton as the Democrat’s “shot” at winning in 2016. This should come as no surprise, as Clinton is by far the top pick for a 2016 run among Democrats, according to a Politico poll taken on May 16. She received 56 percent of the vote, next to runner-up, Joe Biden, with only 16 percent.
The popular Tumblr blog “Texts from Hilary Clinton,” has only served to increase her popularity among young people. Since it launched in April it has received 83,000 Facebook shares and 8,400 Twitter followers and got a nod from Hilary Clinton herself.
Even astrologists back a 2016 Clinton bid, saying that the stars are perfectly alined for a presidential run.
It is not likely that Clinton herself will come out with an announcement about her 2016 plans any time soon since a great deal of her political future depends on whether Mitt Romney or Barack Obama emerges victorious later this year.
In fact, Hilary better be crossing her fingers that Barack Obama manages to lose in November so that she has a decent campaign platform, because against a fierce field of up-and-coming young Republicans, she’s going to need one.
