Sen. John McCain, (R-Ariz.), who was also the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, spoke quite candidly during his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The crowd loved his back and forth with Colbert about how he slept like a baby when he lost. This involved waking up every two hours to cry, McCain joked.
McCain and Colbert did get serious in addition to making some more quips.
And the crowd did not love all that McCain had to say.
When Colbert asked “and how have you felt about the Bachman-Cain administration,” the crowd once more laughed.
After giving the thumbs up, and commenting “helluva job,” McCain also added in that a Bachmann-Cain administration “could have been better than this one,” which was met with boos.
Colbert and McCain took it well though, as Colbert joked “making friends with John McCain.” He then added, “hey, come on over to John McCain’s barbecue! ‘Your kid’s ugly!'” The crowd was once again roaring with laughter by that point.
