In response to Republican attempts to repeal Obamacare under President Trump, Democratic activists in Washington D.C. are pushing a bizarre new strategy: get bars and restaurants in the Washington D.C. area to ban politicians who plan on voting to repeal Obamacare.
According to tweets by Scott Dworkin, who is listed as a Senior Advisor to The Democratic Coalition against Trump, the apparent goal of the movement will be harassing local D.C. bars and restaurants to refuse their services to GOP Senators and Representatives who plan on voting to repeal Obamacare.
“For fun we are working with DC restaurants & bars to ban Members of Congress who plan on repealing Obamacare #trumpleaks #theresistance,” Dworkin tweeted.
Dworkin also stated that restaurants who refuse to comply with his group’s demand to turn away members will be boycotted by residents of D.C. and closed down.
“Restaurants who don’t ban Members will be boycotted by DC residents & close down. We’ve done it before-It worked. #trumpleaks #theresistance,” he tweeted, then later deleted his tweets.
It’s not so much that what Dworkin is suggesting is blatant discrimination that would draw unfavorable press for any restaurant stupid enough to accept this idea, but rather that his group is doing this ‘for fun.’
Now that the American people have realized how much of a colossal disaster Obamacare is and are getting ready to repeal it, frenzied Democrats are now trying to harass local restaurants and bars to reject elected officials who are opposed to Obamacare.
