[VIDEO] Electing Romney will bring zombie apocalypse, Hollywood director Joss Whedon says

If Romney gets elected next week, Americans should start hoarding canned goods in preparation for the zombie apocalypse, according to screenwriter and television director Joss Whedon.

The YouTube channel “WhedonOnRomney” released a video on Sunday showing Whedon explaining that Romney’s policies will result in the apocalypse. “Romney is ready to make the deep rollbacks in health care, education, social services, reproductive rights that will guarantee poverty, unemployment, overpopulation, disease, rioting — all crucial elements in creating a nightmare zombie wasteland,” he says.

The creator of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” claims the new one percent will not be the wealthy, but the fast. “Anyone who can run, fight, make explosives out of household objects or especially do parkour of any kind — you’ll want to stick with them,” Whedon says. “Unless they read Ayn Rand.”

Though Whedon admits no one knows whether zombies will be fast or slow, he says all Americans need to ask themselves if they are ready for “the purity and courage of Mitt Romney’s apocalyptic vision.”

While the video is well-written and humorous, Whedon depicts Romney as a man who cares little for the poor. “He’s not afraid to face a ravening, grasping hoard of sub-humans — ’cause that’s how he sees poor people already,” the screenwriter says. This view conveniently disregards Romney’s significant donations to charity, a whopping $4 million in 2011.

Whedon’s video already has more than 900,000 views, which means the untrue image of Romney as someone who does not care about the poor is being widely disseminated. What a shame to see Hollywood insiders using their influence to spread lies.
