TrackingPoint introduces new ‘Super Gun’ rifle

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s TrackingPoint’s super gun!

With a shooting range of up to 3,100 yards, the Austin, Texas, based gun company has launched its latest weapon — the super gun — with its compilation of new and innovative technology with a powerful firing ability. The gun, introduced Wednesday by TrackingPoint, will shoot farther than the longest confirmed sniper shot of all time, which was 2,705 yards.

A little more than a month ago, TrackingPoint’s technology gave the world its first “smart rifle,” which allowed users to share their shots on social media sites. The new super gun will employ some of those Xact technology super powers that the smart rifle features.

“Now to challenge ourselves we’re looking to 3,000+ yards,” TrackingPoint says in a YouTube video.

Besides being able to shoot farther targets, the super gun will also take a greater bite out of consumers’ wallets. Whereas the smart rifle sold for a grand total of $22,000, the super gun is super expensive, as the The Daily Caller expects it to sell for around $50,000.
