Hollywood hugs Hill: A Guide to all those Hillary movies

Hollywood sure wants Hillary. Just in the last week, two more Hillary-themed movie projects have been announced. To keep them straight, Yeas & Nays created a guide of the three projects people are currently buzzing about.

Hillary, the documentary:

On Monday, Politico broke the news that CNN is planning a feature-length documentary on the former Secretary of State. CNN Films has tapped documentary filmmaker Charles H. Ferguson for the job, though no further details have emerged yet.

Hillary, the mini-series:

On Saturday, Variety reported that NBC would be airing a mini-series on Clinton in advance of a 2016 election announcement. It would star Diane Lane. Husband Bill Clinton has yet to be cast, but the script is to be penned by Courtney Hunt. The series, thus far being called “Hillary,” will follow First Lady Clinton from 1998, and the Monica Lewinsky scandal, through present day.

Hillary, the feature film:

Before Diane Lane’s name was attached to the mini-series, it was “Rodham” that was getting the most A-list action. The feature film would depict Clinton as a 20-something attorney and a rotating list of prominent actresses have been rumored to be attached to the film. “Zero Dark Thirty’s” Jessica Chastain distanced herself from the role, while “The Great Gatsby’s” Carey Mulligan said she couldn’t commit to it at this time. Others potentially in the running include “Les Miserables” star Amanda Seyfried, “The Amazing Spider-Man’s” Emma Stone and Scarlett Johansson, who most recently appeared in “Hitchcock” and “The Avengers.”
