Kaley Cuoco: I’m not a feminist

Cue the feminist freakout.

“Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco recently told Redbook magazine that she isn’t a feminist.

When the magazine asked the actress whether or not she considers herself a feminist, Cuoco responded, “Is it bad if I say no?”

“It’s not really something I think about,” she explained. “Things are different now, and I know a lot of the work that paved the way for women happened before I was around. … I was never that feminist girl demanding equality, but maybe that’s because I’ve never really faced inequality.”

It appears Cuoco could write a book called “Not That Feminist Girl” — it would be the perfect answer to feminist Lena Dunham’s “Not That Kind of Girl.”

Cuoco continued to defend her claim in the interview, citing her love of cooking and “taking care” of her husband, tennis player Ryan Sweeting.

“I cook for Ryan five nights a week,” she detailed. “It makes me feel like a housewife. I love that. I know it sounds old-fashioned, but I like the idea of women taking care of their men. I’m so in control of my work that I like coming home and serving him. My mom was like that, so I think it kind of rubbed off.”

Many of the self-identified feminists commenting on the Redbook story went crazy, of course, while a handful did attempt to defend Cuoco for her remarks.

Chill out, people. It’s called the First Amendment.
