Crossroads Generation has released a new ad titled “Blank check, please” that exposes the real truths about the devastating impact that the national debt has on America’s economic growth.
The video begins by explaining that the American economy has more debt that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) value, and because of this imbalance, economic prosperity is hindered.
The ad also exposes the beginning of the true budget deficit, which began in 2009 when Barack Obama took office. According to the numbers, the government spent $1.4 trillion dollars more than it took in, which was more than three times higher that America’s previous largest yearly deficit, in 2008.
The video then debunks the popular myth among Democrats that America was in a recession, and that it would be necessary to spend the country out of the recession by stimulating the economy.
After the massive $1.4 trillion deficit in 2009, the government spent another $1.3 trillion it didn’t have in 2010, and another deficit of $1.3 trillion in 2011. As for 2012, America is projected to spend another $1.3 trillion that, again, it doesn’t have.
The ad then emphasizes that even with all of this monstrous spending, unemployment still surpassed 8 percent in 2009. This appears to be the new normal for America, with the massive spending that enlarges the deficit at an alarming rate.
Perhaps the most distressing fact from the video that will certainly run through the minds of all voters, is that in the 60 seconds it took to watch this video, $1.4 million was added on to the national debt. Every ten minutes, the United States spends another $14 million dollars that they simply don’t have.

I think this was the wrong “change” that Americans were looking for when they voted for you, Barry.
