Republican Congressman reviews new Jay-Z album

What’s up with Florida Republicans and their rap tunes? (Yes, we’re looking at you, too, Sen. Marco Rubio.) On Tuesday, Rep. Trey Radel (R-Fla.) took to Twitter to live tweet a listen of Jay-Z’s new album “Magna Carta… Holy Grail,” telling his followers to get ready for a “totally unqualified” review.

“Only…Only… Jay-Z can pull off a #hiphop ode to Kurt Cobain and REM,” Radel noted at one point. “Not just an ode…But lyrical references! Pretty sick.”

Radel described songs on the album as “sick” and with “solid beats,” giving his positive Twitter review on a flight from Florida to D.C.

One Twitter fan noted that the Congressman was “way cool for [an] older conservative dude.” Radel objected. “[H]ey, hey, hey watch that ‘o’ word you’re throwing around haha,” he tweeted back.
