Is your password, like John Oliver’s, under eight characters? Someone is probably reading your email.
According to Edward Snowden, whom Oliver interviewed for his show earlier this week, an eight-character password can take a computer less than a second to go through the possibilities and solve.
Oliver recently released this extra footage from the interview, in which Snowden makes fun of all of Oliver’s password ideas and suggests that the best way to come up with a lengthy, secure password is to think of a phrase that you’ll remember, but probably isn’t in the dictionary.
His suggestion? “margaretthatcheris110%SEXY.”
