A Rasmussen poll released yesterday shows that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the most popular member of President Barack Obama’s cabinet.
Clinton might be the most well known of President Obama’s cabinet members, which may have contributed to her 53 percent “favorable” rating.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is the most unpopular, garnering a 47 percent “unfavorable” rating with poll respondents.
Holder’s Dept. of Justice has been plagued by scandals such as “Operation Fast and Furious” and his refusal to investigate potential hate crimes from groups like the Black Panthers.
Clinton, Holder, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner were the only members of the president’s cabinet who were able to crack 50 percent in name recognition.
Just seven percent of respondents hold a favorable view of the president’s Chief of Staff, Jack Lew.
This poll’s positive numbers could further fuel speculation over a possible 2016 White House bid that been the buzz in recent days.
