[WATCH] Rep. Steve Stockman addresses the name-calling from Democrats and the new bill he’s championing

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) has made it through two government shutdowns, but only one resulted in Republicans being compared to terrorists and kidnappers — a comparison Stockman says speaks volumes about the Democratic Party.

Stockman sat down with Red Alert Politics to discuss the foremost issues facing Congress as the government opens back up, as well as new legislation he proposed. Following the tragic shooting at the Washington Navy Yard, the Texas Congressman introduced a bill to allow military personnel to carry on base.

Stockman said the bill has received much support from constituents and Americans nationwide, and he believes the bill will make military bases a much safer place.

The Texas Republican also addressed the name-calling coming from many on the Left during negotiations to open the federal government. Stockman noted the difference between what the President and his fellow Democrats called Major Nidal Hasan, who shot and killed 13 at Fort Hood, and what the President is calling House Republicans.
