President Obama believes that the only solution to stem the tide of gun violence plaguing many cities is gun control, the same idea Democrats have been pushing for over half a century.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest recently commented on the murder sprees that have occurred in Chicago, New York City, and Baltimore.
According to Breitbart, Earnest didn’t mince words, explaining that the White House’s response to the nearly 100 shootings over Memorial Day Weekend is to encourage more gun control.
“Obviously there’s some common sense things we could do — certainly passage of some gun safety laws in Congress that could keep guns out of the hands of criminals would be one thing that we could do to try to limit the violence,” Earnest said.
Earnest also admitted that the recent rise in shootings is a complicated issue that could have multiple solutions, including helping the poverty stricken neighborhoods in those cities.
