Poll: Americans want leadership style change from Obama

More than two-thirds of registered voters surveyed  believe President Obama needs to change the way he is leading the country, according to the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll.

Democrats, Republicans and the unaffiliated are all disappointed in the president and think he needs a shift in direction.

The poll asked respondents how much change they would like to see in the direction Obama has been leading the country and the results were staggering. The survey found 67 percent of registered voters would like to see either “a great deal of change” or “quite a bit of change” to Obama’s direction. Another 23 percent called for “just some change” and only 8 percent said the president should make “not that much change” to his direction.

In a party affiliation breakdown of these results, the survey found that 87 percent of Republicans would like to see Obama change his leadership style.

Among Democrats, 47 percent felt that he needs to make a substantial change. Another 39 percent said he should make some change and just 12 percent of Democrats felt that there should “not be that much change” during the president’s last two years in office.

A separate poll also brought nothing but bad news for the president.

His favorability ranking in the latest Washington Post/ABC poll sunk to 44 percent, with 50 percent of respondents viewing him as unfavorable.

Of these respondents, 52 percent said that they do not see Obama as a good leader. Forty-seven percent said he could not be trusted in a crisis and 51 percent do not find him to be a good manager.
