If you call her ‘Hillz,’ they’ll call you sexist

Is calling Hillary Clinton “Hillz” sexist?

Fusion TV host Alicia Menendez seems to think so.

“When we in the media talk about female candidates in a way we wouldn’t talk about their male counterparts, it sways voters away from those female candidates,” Menendez  said.

The Huffington Post reported that the “Come Here and Say That” host cited a study from women’s advocacy group UltraViolet that, among other detrimental differences from their male counterparts, women candidates competence is questioned more often and their titles are often dropped.

“So it isn’t former Senator, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — it’s just ‘Hillz’!” Menendez quipped.

Menendez’s premise for calling calling Hillary “Hillz” being sexist is that her male counterparts wouldn’t be treated the same way —  having their titles dropped, their wardrobe critiqued, etc.

But “Dubya” and her own husband, “Bubba”  — or maybe you preferred “Slick Willie” — may disagree that the nicknaming from the press is left to only the women.

Despite the pushback on her nickname, The Daily Caller reported that Hillary seems to be ok with the moniker,  even signing an autograph from herself as “Hillz.”

Though she seems to be ok with it, it is safe to say there are other names she’d like to be called in the near future.  Namely, “Madam President.”
