Come to see where the Super Bowl will be played. Stay to watch Minnesotans awkwardly high five.

Minnesota was awarded the 2018 Super Bowl Tuesday afternoon. The state’s next biggest task to tackle: the high five.

In a suspense-filled announcement, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the city of Minneapolis will be home to Super Bowl LII in 2018. The city edged out New Orleans.

Unable to contain their excitement, officials responsible for Minneapolis’ bid were filmed erupting into celebration. But in the midst of the jubilation, no one knew exactly how. As seen in the video, a number of awkward high fives (or attempts to high five) and hugs ensued.

But hey, maybe they were just as surprised as everyone else — because that’s right, the NFL is letting Minnesota host the Super Bowl.

Which happens in the middle of winter.
