Rush Limbaugh said on his nationwide radio show on Tuesday that the left would soon demand taking down the American flag.
Standing in front of the Metropolitan AME Church in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan proved Limbaugh correct, reported WMAL.
“We need to put the American flag down. Because we’ve caught as much hell under that as the Confederate flag,” said Farrakhan.
“White folks march with you because they don’t want you upsetting the city, they don’t give a damn about them nine,” he continued.
A rumor spread in the days after the shooting that the police arrested the Charleston shooter and brought him to a Burger King. The story ended up being false, but it didn’t stop Farrakhan from fantasizing about what police might have said to him at the fast food chain.
“You did a good job. Kill all them [bleep],” Farrakhan said to the crowd as he imitated police.
“I don’t know what the hell the fight is about over the Confederate flag,” Farrakhan continued. “We need to put the American flag down because we’ve caught as much hell under that as the Confederate flag. Who are we fighting today? It’s the people that carry the American flag.”
