New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s (R) kids aren’t all on board with his possible run for the White House.
Christie has four children–Andrew, Sarah, Patrick, and Bridget. Currently three out of four have some qualms with the idea of their father leading the free world.
One of his sons, Patrick, soured on the idea once he realized he would need to move to Washington, D.C. (can’t blame you there, Patrick): “He said, ‘Well I’d be able to keep going to my school, right?’ I’m like, ‘Well no. We’d have to move to the White House — in Washington. And your school is in New Jersey. You pretty much have to come with us.’ That pretty much put him off. He’s off the bandwagon now,” Christie said during a local radio interview picked up by NJ.com.
Andrew, his older son, is his one supporter: “Andrew would be graduated from college. So he’s like, ‘Hey, why not? Good for me.’ Sarah would be in the middle of college — not so much in favor. [She doesn’t like] the whole idea of Secret Service agents living in your dorm,” Christie added.
Christie, on the other hand, is very much into those Secret Service agents watching his older daughter: “By the way, one of the biggest motivating factors for me actually considering this is to have 24-hour surveillance on my daughter. It would be great.”
And Christie’s 11-year-old daughter, Bridget, has the most frank reaction. “Whenever anybody brings it up, Bridget just goes, ‘Eeeew!’”
There are probably a lot of people who feel the same way, Bridget.
