Ed Schultz offers glowing endorsement of Donald Trump: ‘He has the business experience’

Is MSNBC host Ed Schultz auditioning for a spot on the next “Celebrity Apprentice“?

The liberal television commentator offered a rare endorsement of possible GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump during Monday’s episode of “The Ed Show.”

In particular, Schultz — who back in 2011 labeled Trump a “racist” — commended the “Apprentice” creator and businessman for supporting the social safety net during a speech at a Republican Party leadership summit in New Hampshire over the weekend.

“Every Republican wants to do a big number on Social Security, they want to do it on Medicare, they want to do it on Medicaid,” Trump told his audience in Nashua Saturday. “We can’t do that, and it’s not fair to the people that have been paying in for years.”

Schultz labeled Trump “100 percent right,” supposing that his statement is evidence that he would be “willing to work with the other side” if elected president.

The MSNBC host then went on to tout Trump’s business experience as a reason his Republican foes should fear him if he decides to run for president in 2016.

“I know everybody thinks that Trump is a joke and he jumps in front of the parade all the time and is a carnival barker and all that kind of stuff, but if it is about the economy, he’s created more jobs than any of them,” explained Schultz.

“He’s done more deals, he’s signed more contracts, he has the business experience, he’s the guy who is taking the risk, he’s the guy who has been successful,” the liberal commentator continued. “Trump’s business experience compared to the rest of the Republican field is unparalleled, so why don’t they listen to him?”

Trump has previously given his presidential campaign a 75-to-80 percent chance of actually happening. The business mogul believes that if he does jump into the 2016 race, he could beat Hillary Clinton.

What Schultz failed to mention was that Trump also appears to have stronger business experience that Hillary. One wonders if the MSNBC host would endorse Trump over the former secretary of State, as he certainly wasn’t satisfied with her response to the private e-mail scandal.
