Watch out, Katniss Everdeen. There’s a new heroine in town: Cookieness Evereat.
On Monday, Sesame Street released its funny parody of the second Hunger Games film, starring Cookie Monster in the lead role.
Titled “The Hungry Games: Catching Fur,” the YouTube video shows the trials of Evereat, Pita (Peeta Mellark), Finnicky (Finnick Odair) and the Tick Tock Lady (Mags). The foursome must solve the Hungry Games riddles to eat the right food and survive.
Viewers familiar with the second book in the Hunger Games series will recognize the monkey muttations — though in a much less vicious version — and the poisonous fog, which tickles instead of kills.
This spoof is just the latest in a series of fantastic Sesame Street parodies, which includes “Homelamb,” a recreation of Homeland, and Mad Men.
