‘Chief Nickname Strategist’ explains what goes into a Trump nickname [VIDEO]

The secret behind Donald Trump’s nicknames for his opponents might be a schoolyard bully.

Trump has one for Bernie Sanders, whom he calls “crazy Bernie, because he’s not very good.” Stephen Colbert pointed out for Wednesday’s The Late Show that Trump is “not very good” either “when it comes to knowing the meaning of the world ‘crazy.'”

Colbert cautioned Sanders against “taking this nickname lightly,” since nicknames “have destroyed all of Trump’s opponents,” including “Low Energy Jeb,” “Little Marco,” and “Lyin’ Ted.”

To discuss the strategy for the general election, Colbert talked with Chief Nickname Strategist Timmy Jenkins, a young man in jeans and a “Make America Great Again” cap.

Jenkins explained he’s had “over five years of playground experience making nerds cry,” which he called “really fun.” The names have been able to catch on because of “top focus group testing,” and the names “are not pulled out of our hats.” They’ve actually gone through a few names, before settling on “Little Marco.”

Other suggested names included “Bland Balls” for Rand Paul, “Carly Peeorina” for Carly Fiorina, “Snott Walker,” and “Ass Chistie” for Chris Christie, who was not told of the nickname, despite having endorsed Trump.

When Colbert asked if “these types of juvenile tactics are good for our democracy,” Jenkins called him “Stinky Colbutt” and called his program The Lame Show with Steaming Colfart. Jenkins even got Colbert to hit himself, who denied he was crying and lashed out, saying that “I hate politics!”

Jenkins yelled out “Make America Great Again, butt faces” before exiting the stage.
