Grumpy Cat brushed whiskers with Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) on Monday morning — and true to form, the famous feline wasn’t impressed.
The recently elected Senator and the Internet sensation crossed paths on the set of the PIX 11 Morning News, where they were both doing live interviews.
Booker took a few backstage photos holding the cat, whose real name is Tardar Sauce. Several of the pics were tweeted out, and even Booker himself admitted that Grumpy Cat looked less than thrilled.
Surprisingly, Booker is the highest ranking politician to meet Tardar Sauce. The cat became famous in 2012, when owner Tabatha Bundesen’s brother posted a picture of feline to Reddit. Booker has become somewhat of an Internet sensation himself by maintaining a very active Twitter account — at least for an elected official.
At the time of this article, the Congressman’s office had not responded to request for additional comment.
