Americans sure think they know a lot about the government shutdown, sequester, debt ceiling and Obamacare. But late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel proved otherwise Wednesday night on his show Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Kimmel’s team hit Hollywood Blvd. for the late-night show’s segment, Confusing Question of the Day. But this question was a smorgasbord of buzz words that have been dominating the media for the past few weeks and stumped all who were approached. The question: Do you think the Republicans did the right thing by allowing Obamacare to move forward even though the impending debt crisis could defund additional sequester furloughs and national parks and default ceiling fans?
“Yes because the government needs to start getting going, I mean the extra debt that’s accumulated and the repercussions are bad but I think universal healthcare will be a greater benefit for all,” one man said.
The gentleman was then asked if he thinks the debt ceiling fan should be oscillating, to which he answered yes.
“Yea, yea to a certain extent. It can oscillate to a certain extent,” he replied.
But Kimmel’s team didn’t stop there.
They went on to ask passersby if Republicans were right to default of the ceiling fans — yes, many said — if the default ceiling fans should be powered by solar or electric — go green, solar — and who the favor sequester was in the government — Bill Clinton, of course.
