[WATCH] Touré says we’re “dancing on the deck of the Titanic” by celebrating sledding because climate change

Thank heavens we have Touré to keep us on-topic, else we’d forget that reminiscing about snow days trivializes the coming flood and hellfire of man-made global warming.

The MSNBC contributor reacted with sanctimony Wednesday to his “Cycle” co-hosts’ nostalgia about the snow amid the recent spell of wintry weather. Krystal Ball and Abby Huntsman each associated snowy days with childhood memories. Touré jumped in to associate them with the end times.

“Yeah, I totally get it, and it takes me back to being a child in the Blizzard of ’78, and you know, playing in the snow, but I can only — I’m sorry, I can only do so many fun, awe-struck stories about the weather and these extraordinary weather events without saying this is because of climate change!” Touré protested. “That’s why we’re having all these extraordinary, extreme weather events.”

He then cited polling that purports to demonstrate American ignorance of humanity’s role in climate change, and damn it, it’s no laughing matter.

“When we act like all this is fun,” Touré continued, waving his arms, “you know what we’re doing? We’re dancing on the deck of the Titanic.”

The panel fell silent.

“That was a … that was a pretty heavy comment,” Ball said, tittering on her words. Ball ran in Virginia as a Democrat for Congress in 2010.

“I wanted to talk about sledding,” Huntsman replied.

Ball went on to explain that one can’t identify a statistical trend from a single data point.

“It’s poetry with you, and the Titanic, it’s poetry,” Ari Melber, one of Touré’s fellow Cyclists, said. “You know what it is? You’re a winter poet.”
