New study: Thousands injured from texting while walking

In the newest edition of “Millennials meet the real world,” a study commissioned by the National Safety Council reported that thousands of people are injured everyday by “distracted walking.”

CBS News reported that pedestrians distracted by their mobile devices has caused a huge increase in emergency room visits — some have even died from their injuries.

Injuries related to walking while looking at your phone have quadrupled over the last seven years. According to that study by NSC, 78 percent of Americans said that distracted walking is a serious issue — half of these people are probably part of the problem.

The people who are inflicted the most these injuries are millennials.

While some cases of distracted walking have ended tragically, some are hilarious like the video below:

So young millennials beware, don’t text and walk because gravity applies to you. But, if you are going to do it and you fall into a fountain, make sure someone tapes it and puts it on YouTube.
