Forget about Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Donald Trump, former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore was the big winner on Super Tuesday. #Gilmentum is in full swing, the former Virginia Governor finally had an election victory — three weeks after he suspended his campaign.
In the Massachusetts primary, Gilmore won Boston suburb of Chelsea. He won in a landslide, 47 percent to Donald Trump’s 19 percent.

The 366 votes Gilmore received in Chelsea was three times as many votes as he received in the Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire primary combined.
While no one can explain the reason for his victory, several theories are floating around the internet. Bloomberg View columnist Megan McArdle said that there was likely a reporting error — or a local resident also named Jim Gilmore is very popular and people assumed they were voting for him.

Boston.com attempted to contact the City Clerk to see if there was a reporting error, but there was no response.
So as of now, Gilmore can celebrate that he won something in 2016.
