Fake News: Disney forces Vice to retract fabricated Trump feud

VICE media has come a long way from its founding.

Take it from its ostracized co-founder “Proud Boy” Gavin McInnes, who says, he hasn’t looked at the website since 2008 and slams it for its “Stalinist revisionism.”

In its latest round of fake news, VICE published, then retracted (through its tech site, Motherboard) that President Trump and his communications team were doing everything possible to stall the inclusion of President Trump in Disney’s Hall of Presidents.

Since 1993, the current Commander-in-Chief has recorded a non-partisan speech about America and her values of liberty and freedom to conclude the 23-minute long exhibit about the history of the presidency. VICE published two reports, one on May 19 and the other on June 26, alleging that the Trump animatron would break tradition by being present in the Hall, but without a speaking role.

Earlier this year, 45,000 signatures were posted on a change.org petition, asking Disney to not have such a divisive and hateful president ruin everyone’s fun:

“The Magic Kingdom at Disney World is a place specifically designed for the enjoyment of children and families. Therefore, it is not an appropriate place for a Donald Trump speech. We ask that Walt Disney World take a stand against divisive and hurtful rhetoric and have the backs of millions of Americans and people worldwide whose day would be ruined by the depiction of a speech by Donald Trump.”

Later, VICE claimed that the Trump team and Disney were having internal conflicts over what the President would say in his speech, with both sides wanting near-complete editorial control, and Disney saying that they’ve always contributed greatly to the content in the patriotic exhibit.

With all the controversy swirling around, Disney Parks tweeted a statement to set the record straight, laying a blow to the edgy left-leaning site:

“The Vice report is inaccurate. As we have stated, President trump will have a speaking role in the Hall of Presidents like every president since 1993. We have been working closely with the White House and the president’s recording session has been scheduled. We have repeatedly stated that the attraction will re-open in late 2017.”

Even though Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, has taken issue with President Trump, even resigning from President Trump’s business advisory council after Trump withdrew from the Paris Climate accords, it seems the Happiest Place on Earth is strong on tradition. No matter the party or politics, the President is still the President in Liberty Square.
