When you’re on a hot streak like golfer Rory McIlroy is, chances are you’re not going to beat him at his own game. Not even with coaching from Tiger.
McIlroy, the recent winner of golf’s PGA Championship, swung by “The Tonight Show” Monday for a one-on-one game of the segment “Facebreakers,” in which Fallon and a guest launch objects at a paned wall of glass. The method Monday was chipping golf balls — and to try to make things a bit more even, Tiger Woods stood to Fallon’s side and provided light coaching.
“You might want to hit it harder” was about the most in-depth it got, though.
Fallon previously did this segment with Tom Cruise and footballs. Cruise played a sports agent in “Jerry Maguire” — not quite the legit competition that Rory is, who plays a really good golfer in real life.
