The Daily Show rips into Florida’s ban on doctors asking about guns

The Daily Show sent one of their “correspondents” down to Florida to “investigate” Governor Rick Scott’s law banning doctors from asking their patients about gun ownership.

The law was designed to prevent doctors from prodding into gun owners’ lives for political reasons. Doctors have countered that it infringes on their free speech rights by banning certain topics from their practice, while a court that upheld the law determined that it  “simply acknowledges that the practice of good medicine does not require interrogation about irrelevant, private matters.”

But why get into the nuance of these things when you could just use the law as an opportunity to mock gun owners and depict them as crazy people who don’t care about the safety of children? So naturally, that’s just what the Daily Show did:
