Ted Cruz calls Megyn Kelly a ‘liberal journalist’ when she asks him about immigration

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is following in Republican frontrunner Donald Trump’s footsteps and picked a fight with Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.

Cruz accused Kelly of asking him questions on immigration that he’d only expect from a “liberal journalist” during an interview Monday.

“If you have a husband and a wife who are illegal immigrants, and they had two children here who are American citizens — would you deport all of them? Would you deport the American citizen children?” Kelly asked.

Cruz explained that the main concern for politicians should be focusing on bipartisan agreements including stopping illegal immigration and improving the legal immigration system.

“But that doesn’t sound like an answer,” Kelly responded.

“Well, what I’m doing Megyn is answering what I think Congress should do,” Cruz replied, as he began listing actions Congress should take on immigration.

“Listen, senator, I understand all that. And you’ve outlined your plan. But unlike you, you’re dodging my question. You don’t want to answer that question?” the host continued. “He says he would. Donald Trump says they are all gone under his policy. What would a President Cruz do?”

Cruz lashed out at her, accusing her of being a liberal.

“Megyn, I get that that’s the question you want to ask. That’s also the question every mainstream media liberal journalist wants to ask. They focus exclusively on 12 million people,” Cruz said.

He called her question a distraction from actually solving the problems at hand. The senator said he would be willing to tackle the issue once the border was secure.
