The incident involving Ahmed Mohamed and his homemade clock certainly brought controversy. School officials thought it looked like a bomb, and the police were called in.
The school was attacked for acting in the name of keeping the school and community safe.
Recently, MRCTV asked college students what they thought the invention looked like.
As it turns out, many of them had a hard time figuring out it was a clock. They too even thought it looked like a bomb and were surprised at the reveal. Some shared that they would report it, and that they would be concerned.
Students also shared they agreed that “if anybody regardless of their race or religion brought this into a school, there would be somebody getting concerned about it.”
With social media having been used to direct outrage at the school, will it now be used against these college students? As MRCTV quipped, some of these students could now considered an “Islamophobe” for such answers.
