It appears Barbara Bush is behind another Bush presidency after all.
The wife of former President George H.W. Bush, who told NBC two years ago that there had been “enough Bushes” in the White House, poked fun at her earlier statement Friday and said instead that there haven’t been “too many Bushes.”
“What do you mean, ‘too many Bushes’? … I’ve changed by mind,” Barbara told her son Jeb Bush via Skype as he spoke at a charity gala in Florida, according to ABC News. Jeb, of course, is himself poised to make a run for the presidency in 2016.

The former first lady went on to thank the guests at the “Celebration of Reading” charity event, which was sponsored by the Barbara Bush Foundation.
Back in April of 2013, Barbara was asked on NBC’s “Today” whether or not she thought Jeb would run for the Oval Office in 2016, and she responded in the negative.
“He’s by far the best qualified man, but no,” she explained. “I really don’t.”
“I think it’s a great country,” Barbara continued. “There are a lot of great families, and it’s not just four families or whatever. There are other people out there that are very qualified and we’ve had enough Bushes.”
Since announcing that he will “actively explore” a bid for the White House in 2016 last December, Jeb Bush has been hard at work raising money for his new political action committee Right to Rise.
