Students demand social justice training department: “College of Power and Liberation”

Dominating the university system with liberal professors is not enough for the students at Western Washington University. They’re demanding that the school become a social justice warrior training camp.

KTTN reported that progressive students claiming to represent “marginalized peoples” stormed into a Board of Trustees meeting on Feb 12 with a list of demand to fight a “legacy of colonialism.”

Part of their demands include the creation of a new “College of Power and Liberation” that would train students in activism. The faculty in this new school would require student approval to ensure they had the same belief system.

“If Western’s administration wants to claim that they care about social justice,” the students said in their demands. “They need to give resources and power to those who are impacted by violent injustices and design the kind of education that will meet our needs and give us the tools to transform unjust social relationships.”

The students also demanded the creation of an Office for Social Transformation. The office would employ 15 students to monitor speech around campus, anything considered “racist, anti-black, transphobic, cissexist, misogynistic, ableist, homophobic, Islamophobic, and otherwise oppressive behavior on campus.”

They also wanted to segregate culturally oppressed students from white students — irony is wasted on the fact that they would try and house the Muslim and black students alongside the gay and queer students.
