At 2:40am after President Barack Obama had been declared the winner of the 2012 Presidential election, “non-partisan” Rock the Vote decided it was time to celebrate with an email taking credit for his victory. But amidst the cheerful and tearful “#wedid” and “against all odds” sentiments, the email contained a censored “f” word.
Guess they just couldn’t control themselves.
“Congratulations! Against all odds and because of our work and the collective power of our generation, we were heard!” the email began. “The pundits are talking about the winners and losers. We think that’s a stupid f*cking idea. Let’s talk about this: Last night, we proved that we are engaged, we vote, and that we are a political force that cannot be ignored.”
Classy.
“The work we’ve done over the past year wasn’t just to elect someone, it was to change the direction of our country and impact the future of our communities,” the email continued.
Rock the Vote’s stated mission is to “engage and build political power for young people in our country.”
The maturity level of the campaign that is “Rock the Vote” was extremely transparent in this morning’s email as it not only displayed it’s giddy excitement and ignorance in reelecting a man who has increased college tuition, increased the national debt and oversees close to eight percent unemployment (all of which negatively affect young people), they couldn’t celebrate without using tasteless, offensive language.
Welcome to the next four years of gloating Obama supporters with their rose-colored glasses and potty mouths.
