Christie has some fun on Twitter with #Hercules tweets

As the residents of the Garden State started to dig themselves out of the foot or more of snow dumped on them Thursday night by Winter Storm Hercules, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie took to Twitter to lighten the mood – and make fun of faux news anchor Will McAvoy at the same time.

After using his Twitter account to provide emergency updates and school closing information to his more than 425,000 followers, Christie retweeted several of his followers tweets at him, reminiscing on how much fun snow days were when they were growing up and how wonderful it is when the governor’s favorite musician – Bruce Springsteen – performs on the Jersey boardwalk.

One of Christie’s followers who took notice of his #Hercules tweets was none other than the parody account for HBO’s “The Newsroom” anchor Will McAvoy. Calling the tweets “funnier than the ‘Price is Right,” McAvoy and Christie proceeded to get into a little tête-à-tête online.

McAvoy later clarified that he was not referring to the potential 2016 presidential candidate’s girth in his last tweet.

He also fought back against claims posted on Twitchy that he was sassing the governor.
