President Trump is literally the next Hitler. YEAH! RESIST!
I will not rest until President Trump is impeached. YASSS! RESIST!!
President Trump’s mouth is Vladimir Putin’s “cock holster.” HAHA! RESIST!
Here’s an effigy of President Trump’s decapitated head. Um, resist?
You see where this is going? Each statement has been uttered or enacted by figureheads of the Left, the resistance to Donald Trump. And each incident has given the Left a more lenient license to say and do whatever they want, and it’s becoming more grotesque and inappropriate than the incident before it.
It’s become so bad now that comedian Bill Maher, who’s a champion of free speech, said the n-word on his show Friday night when interviewing Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse (R).
And while Maher has been rightfully condemned for his use of the word, Sasse is being dragged down with him by liberals for not speaking out immediately.
Bill Maher just said the n word, @BenSasse didn’t look horrified, and the audience applauded. pic.twitter.com/kFAs1S3dyM

.@BenSasse‘s “oh crap, this clip is gonna be in all the 2020 ads and end my presidential hopes” grimace is Exhibit A of the second truth.

It’s reached a point where even Sasse had to apologize for laughing at Maher’s remark.

3 reflections on @billmaher
1. I’m a 1st Amendment absolutist. Comedians get latitude to cross hard lines.— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) June 3, 2017
2. But free speech comes with a responsibility to speak up when folks use that word. Me just cringing last night wasn’t good enough.

3. Here’s what I wish I’d been quick enough to say in the moment: “Hold up, why would you think it’s OK to use that word?…

Sasse shouldn’t have laughed at Maher’s “joke.” But let’s be real here, the Left has been arguably more racist than anyone in just this year alone.
Look at what happened to former Fox News co-host and liberal pundit Bob Beckel. Just in May, he was fired for making a racist remark to a black employee.
But racism isn’t just a one-way street. On liberal campuses such as Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, students have been trying to oust all white people from campus for their “Day of Absence” and then cast any white person who disagrees with them as a racist.
And, above all, look how the Left treats black conservatives like South Carolina Senator Tim Scott or gun rights advocate Antonia Okafor. They’ve been dragged through the mud and called a “house n—r” by many in the black community simply because they don’t think like them. Both of them shared some of their thoughts about the Bill Maher incident on social media.
I love the smell of double standards in the morning. #maher

It’s not simply enough that the Left condemn those who are racist and move on. They need to get off their high horse and stop pretending that they’re more accepting and tolerant of people of different backgrounds. They’ve poisoned the well of political discourse for too long for anyone to have an honest discussion about race, religion, or anything political without someone being shouted down as a racist, xenophobe, homophobe, sexist, or bigot.
