Forget #StandWithRand — the GOP is now choosing to #StandWithSriracha.
Earlier this month, the City Council for Irwindale, Calif. — where the hot sauce factory is located — voted unanimously to declare the production facility a public nuisance, due to its apparent strong odor. But now, according to Breitbart, the Republican Party of Los Angeles County is revealing its support for Sriracha maker Huy Fong Foods.
On Saturday, RPLAC issued the following resolution:
The sauce’s creator, David Tran, has considered moving the factory to another town or state. At least 10 states have offered to accommodate the Sriracha production facility. That would likely be welcome relief for residents of Irwindale, who claim the smell coming from the factory results in nosebleeds and sore throats.
The saga of Irwindale vs. Huy Fong Foods has being ongoing for several months. In October 2013, the city filed a lawsuit against the company, and in November, a judge ordered a partial shutdown of the factory.
