The internet is filled with hot takes, however, some are just too hot to handle.
On Monday morning, the Washington Free Beacon ran an op-ed titled “Kate Upton Might Not Be Perfect” by “disgraced former journalist” Andrew Stiles. They say that “with great power comes great responsibility,” and it appears that the folks at the Free Beacon are at risk of losing their readers’ trust.

The editor’s note makes the article infinitely better as it states that after running the story in their print magazine “hundreds of subscribers wrote letters, sent emails, and posted on social media to express their rage in response to the columnist’s views. Many threatened to cancel their subscriptions, which is somewhat odd since the Free Beacon is, well, free.”
What’s even better is that the Free Beacon editor ran the story online “in furtherance of our ironclad commitment to free speech and unrestrained preemptive warfare in the battle for truth and enlightenment.”
Twitter immediately lit up with people who were furious over Free Beacon’s decision to run the story on their site.

While many of us agree that the internet is a hot mess, let us be thankful that we’re not the Washington Free Beacon right now.
